Toby has earned a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies in 2008 from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas.  He continued his education and training by completing a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies with specialization in Orthopedic Surgery in 2016 from the University of Nebraska Medical Center.  In November 2016 he earned a Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Orthopedic Surgery from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

He completed a Bachelor of Science degree with specializations in athletic training and secondary and higher education at Texas A&M University at Commerce in 2000.  He then earned a Master of Science degree with concentrations in kinesiology, healthcare, and public administration in 2002 while working as a graduate assistant Athletic Trainer at Tyler Junior College and Trinity Mother Frances Hospital.  He then worked as an assistant Athletic Trainer for Football at Indiana University in 2003.

Prior to joining Azalea, he gained five years of experience in Rheumatology managing and treating diseases that affect the joints, muscles, bones, and immune system.

He is currently working toward earning his Doctorate in Medical Science.

In addition to service to the medical community, he also serves in the Texas Army National Guard as the Physician Assistant for the 176th Engineer Brigade.

In his spare time he enjoys running and spending time with his wife and two dogs.
