Staff Newsletter – June

Message from the CEO

We are still on track to break ground in July on our skilled nursing facility, The Center at Grande. Toby Cason recently started seeing patients in Clinic D on Mondays and Fridays. His primary focus will be hip, knee and spine. He will continue to have clinic in Mt. Pleasant Tuesday thru Thursday. We hope to have some new office space in Palestine by the end of the summer or early fall. TSJH has purchased and is renovating a building where we will be able to lease space. Dr. Huffman and Dr. Wupperman already go to Palestine twice a month each and we hope to add a couple more physicians and maybe a mid-level provider so that we have better coverage in that market. We are looking at adding another service in our Grande office. The local Airrosti provider is searching for lease space. Airrosti is not physical therapy but a form of manual therapy that should be a good complementary business.

Summer is here and the kids are out of school so many of you will be heading out on vacation. A good work, life balance is important so enjoy, relax and be safe.
Thank you all for taking great care of our patients.

Please be mindful of the secured doors in the building after hours and on weekends. If you unlock a door to get into the clinic please remember to go back and lock it before you go. For the most part everyone should be entering and exiting through the side doors using their security badges for access. Building security is everyone’s job. Take it seriously.

Please remember to dump out any drinks before throwing them away in your trash. Many bad messes have resulted from soda and liquids leaking out of the trash on the way down the hall. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns about the housekeeping services.

Materials Management:

DS Solutions is up and running the Golden Road locations. After months of preparation and implementation the system is fully functional in the Golden Road clinic. All DME is now managed by the system and is being re-ordered and restocked twice a week. The closets are looking great and satisfaction with the new system seems to be high. Please remember to sticker the clip board every time you issue out DME. South Broadway and Mt. Pleasant will be added to the system soon. With your help, DME shortages will be a thing of the past making all of our jobs much easier.

Congratulations to Azalea Financial Counselor Judy Lee!

Judy was the employee of the month in April 2016, and we didn’t want
to miss the chance of giving her the credit she has earned.

IMG_0154Learn more about Judy:

I have been a financial counselor at Azalea Orthopedics for 2 years. The best part of my job is being able to help our patients both personally and financially to get the treatment they need, whether it be an office visit or helping them get the surgery they need. Many of our patients have been injured in a car accident, on the job, at home or other situations out of their control and are worried about providing for their families while they are unable to work.   It is so rewarding to assist them in achieving a way financially for them to be able to have the surgery they need and still take care of their families. I try to see that each patient leaves my office knowing that their well being is my first interest while being able to do my job for the company as well. I hope to be able to continue to do an even better job for Azalea in the future.  Working with the best Orthopedic professionals  East Texas has to offer has been a true blessing in my life.
