This patient is concerned about knee pain after surgery, and may have an incorrect prior diagnosis.
I tore my ACL and meniscus on my left knee playing soccer and had surgery 9 months ago. Recently, I’ve been experiencing knee pain again and was told I have a degenerative lateral meniscus, but I’m not sure what it is or if it’s the correct diagnoses. After stopping excursus for a few months, my pain has decreased. When can I resume working out without pain, if that is possible at all?
A degenerative meniscus is generally seen in older patients. Your recent diagnoses sound a little suspect to me. A second opinion by an orthopedist with subspecialty interest in sports medicine would probably be of benefit to get a good treatment plan for your knee.
