2014 was an exciting year for Azalea Orthopedics. We acquired a new clinic, welcomed new doctors, and even won a few awards!
We welcomed new faces…
Two new doctors joined our staff this year, Dr. Kummerfeld and Dr. Anderson. Dr. Kummerfeld is a native of Tyler, returning to the city after a fellowship in Los Angeles. He specializes in shoulder and elbow reconstruction, and has experience treating college-level athletes. Dr. Anderson is an orthopedic traumatologist, and has been practicing in Tyler for years. He specializes in fracture care, including hip and knee replacement, pediatric fracture care, and sports injuries.
Expanded your access…
We also expanded our services to Pittsburg, where we joined forces with East Texas Medical Center (ETMC) Pittsburg, and Mt. Pleasant, where we acquired East Texas Orthopedics. In both cases, Azalea staff will be working in conjunction with existing staff to better serve you.
And out-shined the competition!
Our very own Dr. Wupperman was named as one of the top doctors in the state by Texas Super Doctors®. This honor is limited to approximately 5 percent of the region’s active physicians. Meanwhile, Dr. Russell was named one of 2014’s “235 Spine Surgeons to Know” by Becker’s Spine Review, a Chicago-based online and print publication focused on issues related to spine surgeons and practices. Congratulations to them both!
