No Azalea Orthopedic Patients are Affected by the Reported Meningitis Outbreak

No Azalea Orthopedic patients are affected by the reported Meningitis outbreak. We have confirmed with Texas Spine and Joint Hospital, Trinity Mother Francis Health System, and East Texas Medical Center that their hospitals do not use compound steroids for epidural steroid injections, like those associated with the Meningitis outbreak. Thus, none of our patients are affected by this national alert.

There have been several cases across the country of Meningitis associated with epidural steroid injections. Thus far, they have narrowed the focus to compounded steroids manufactured by the New England Compounding Center, a company that is not under the direct regulation of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This DOES NOT AFFECT the patients of Azalea Orthopedics. We place the utmost priority on patient safety and do not use any products unless they have been produced under the strict regulations of the FDA.

Contact us or your hospital if you have any questions or concerns.
