Bishop Gorman Catholic High School is set to be this year’s host the 11th annual Azalea Orthopedics & TSJH Tyler Football Classic August 28 – August 30, 2016. Six area high schools will compete in the Classic, which kicks off the 2016 football season for participating teams.
The Classic is rotationally hosted by Tyler area private schools. All Saints Episcopal, Bishop Gorman Regional Catholic School, and Grace Community School who collaboratively organized the event with Waxahachie Life High School, Garrison High School, and Harmony High School.
Matthew Jones, M.D., Azalea Orthopedics sports medicine surgeon says the event has grown substantially in 11 years. “This is a great chance for high school football players and fans to gather before the official season starts.” Dr. Jones went on to say that, “sponsoring the event is a great way for Azalea Orthopedics and Texas Spine and Joint Hospital to show how proud they are of the high school programs in East Texas.”
“We had a great media day today. All six schools had several team members and coaches there to kick-off the Classic. It’s always a fun way to start the games and we look forward to it every year. Our goal for the Classic is to create a fun-filled experience for the entire family to enjoy while providing a great environment for the kids trying to prepare for the new season,” said Leslie Fossey, director of public affairs at Azalea Orthopedics.
Tickets for the event are $7 for adults and $5 for children under 12 and may be purchased at the gate at game time. No district passes may be used.

- August 25 – 7:00 p.m. – All Saints Episcopal vs. Harmony
- August 26 – 7:00 p.m. – Grace Community vs. Waxahachie Life
- August 27 – 7:00 p.m. – Bishop T. K. Gorman vs. Garrison
