Dean has been living in Tyler since 1998. In 2016, he began working with Dr. Michael Merrick. They have created a strong partnership focusing on all aspects of patient care.
Before moving to Tyler, in 1998, Dean completed his Physician Associate training program from the University of Oklahoma Medical school.
Prior to becoming a physician assistant, Dean was a Warrant Officer and AH-64 Apache helicopter Pilot in the United States Army. He served for 9 ½ years worldwide, including Desert Storm.
Mr. Pennington lives in Lindale, Texas with his wife of 17 years, Djuana Pennington R.N., and their four children. Dean is happy to be a part of East Texas. He plays a large role in the New Baptist Church and as a Webelo scout leader.
