He fulfilled his internship at the Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas before returning to UTMB where he completed his residency, training in the field of Orthopedic Surgery. While there, Dr. Overturf received numerous awards for academic and teaching excellence; he participated in multiple research projects focusing on orthopedic implant design and advanced imaging.
