Question: Can stem cell and PRP injections help with arthritis pain?
Medication and injections can help diminish pain and swelling, but don’t alter the disease process. Stem cell and PRP injections are being used, but currently there is no overwhelming scientific evidence that they work better than more traditional injectable medications for arthritis. They also are expensive and usually not covered by insurance. Keep in mind that regular low-impact exercises (no running, jumping or jogging) are helpful in strengthening your muscles, which aids in alleviating joint pressure.
